Hawaii calls Italy | Tokyo Edition

I am writing from Haneda Airport in Tokyo, new, shiny, perfectly organized, a summary of Tokyo itself. My mind is already going to the green Honolulu and my comfortable "flip flops", while I taste my last hot Japanese "ocha", green tea. I should admit that, even if I am happy to come back to a more casual lifestyle, I already know that my city-lover soul will terribly miss all the emotions that people, places, food and boutiques of Tokyo inspired me. Tokyo's inhabitants love beauty. As the Italians, they own in the DNA the innate ability to perceive the quality of a hand-woven fabrics; the elegance of the paper obtained by an age-old knowledge; the thrill that a perfect gift package can give; the value of a praline decorated with passion; the great sense of respect...

Look on the bright side, it’s a (North) shore thing

North Shore, the northern coast of the island of Oahu. A green, wonderful nature contrasting with the red soil of the pineapple and coffee plantations, which you cross coming from Honolulu. A windy shore, defined as the “Surfers’ Olympo”, with its heroes - Eddie Aikau, just to give one example - its rituals – it host several competition of the winter league - and its mythological places - "surfing spots" as Banzai Pipeline, Rocky Point, Sunset beach. Gateway for access to the coast is Haleiwa, defined as the “Historic town” for its vintage suggestions and its history, closely interlaced with the 60s boom of surf. "A-lo-ha" is the word used to greet and bless each new meeting in Hawaii, a word now popular all over the world, but with a complex, ancient, deeply spiritual meaning.
