James Hilton in 1933 in his book ” Lost Horizon” for the first time wrote about Shangri-La, an imaginary and utopian place full of peace.
Have you ever think about where is your Shangri-La? Have you ever think if it is imaginary or real?
My Shangri-La is a place-non place and is everywhere I go because I take it in my heart.
It’s the sound of my daddy’s laugh while he is having breakfast, it’s my mother’s hug while we greet each other, it’s my dog Audrey’s gaze while I’m coming back after a day outside, are the loyal and unexpected words of a friend, are the soothed feelings that are coming on the surface, is the sentence ” Throw yourself headlong and love ‘till madness.”
Taking them with me is like always being in my Shangri-La. It’s not a matter of physical place, it’s a matter of Love and where there’s Love, there’s the place that I call Home.

Avete mai pensato a dove sia il vostro Shangri-La? Se sia un luogo reale o immaginario, fisico o meno?
Il mio Shangri-La è un luogo-non luogo ed è ovunque vado perchè lo porto nel cuore.
E’ il suono della risata di mio padre quando fa colazione, è l’abbraccio di mia madre quando ci stiamo salutando, è lo sguardo della mia cagnolina Audrey quando torno a casa dopo una giornata trascorsa fuori, sono le inaspettate e leali parole di un’amica, sono i sentimenti sopiti che tornano in superficie, è la frase ” Buttati a capofitto e ama alla follia.”
Portarli insieme a me è come essere sempre nel mio Shangri-La. Non è questione di un posto fisico, è questione di Amore e dove c’è esso, quello è il posto che chiamo Casa.
